Tanya Bachmeier, CEO Cornerstone Timberframes

Tanya Bachmeier is the CEO of Cornerstone Timberframes, a leading Canadian company specializing in heavy timber structures since 1991. Raised in a family deeply embedded in the construction industry, Tanya was exposed to the craft from an early age. After graduating in 2000, she immediately joined her father and uncle at Cornerstone, where she immersed herself in various aspects of the business. Her early roles included working in the production shop, handling bookkeeping, creating 3D project models, meeting with clients, and even applying finishes to timbers after hours.

In 2015, Tanya and her husband, Nevin, purchased Cornerstone Timberframes, marking the beginning of a transformative era for the company. Under her leadership, Cornerstone evolved into a multifaceted manufacturer, now recognized for its expertise in both residential timber frames and commercial mass timber. Tanya’s unique approach bridges the high craft tradition of timber framing with the innovative world of mass timber construction.

Beyond her professional achievements, Tanya is an active and creative individual. She plays hockey for fun and fitness, enjoys splitting wood for her home’s fireplace, and is always working on a furniture or finishing project. Tanya and Nevin are also proud parents of two children, balancing their family life with the demands of running a successful business.
